Dear Drew,

Thank you for submitting your application for the Students on Ice Antarctic Expedition 2011. I am pleased to send you this letter of acceptance confirming your participation on the expedition, which will take place from December 27, 2011 to January 11, 2012. You will be joining students, professors, polar educators, and scientists from around the world on this unique and exciting educational adventure of a lifetime!

You will be receiving more documents such as the Important Forms Final Checklist, and the Orientation Package in the coming weeks and months. These are all very important documents to review carefully. In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we will be sending you these documents electronically.

Your expedition fee for the SOI Antarctic Expedition 2011 is $13,500 CAD. Please note the expedition fee includes all general expenses (accommodations, travel and meals) during the expedition period. This does not include your independent travel expenses from home to Toronto. An invoice and proposed payment plan will be sent to you shortly. Your administrative deposit will be deposited towards your expedition fee at this time.
