Monday and Tuesday were spent at Surat. The new managers are there. Together with the new TA and the current headstockman, they're going to make a formidable team. I'm really impressed by them all and they'll take W to new heights. One more visit next week to finalise April eom and I can rest easy and start to think of other things again.
While we were at Surat I had two long skype sessions with Drewy. His host family has gone to Greece for two weeks and he was missing them. He was waiting for his "caretaker" to arrive, a Canadian military man who will be staying with him for some of the time. He will also be staying with family friends and has himself booked at numerous homes for dinner.
I had a phone call on Tuesday night from A who desperately needed someone to look after C for a few hours on Wedneday afternoon so he dropped her at the office on his way to an appointment in Bell. She laid on the carpet for a couple of hours, amusing herself, then she and I went to town and did the grocery shop. A picked her up when Gibbo and I went out to tea with the section managers.
Gibbo had an early meeting Thursday morning at head office so he left at 4.30am. He called in on MT of Rare Chicken Rescue fame on the way home to distribute some of the donated flood money from CW. Nearly four months later the scene is still disturbing. He wrote cheques for 7 people who live on that road. Meg had a night out in town with friends. Chris' week in the feedmill has gone well. We have a house guest for the Easter break.
Friday was spent doing not much, mostly winding down and hanging out in the permy garden. A great way to spend a day.
The potatoes are IN!!!
I planted the last two little potatoes under the lemongrass, just to see what happens.
