You Are What You Eat

The latest on Gibbo's visits to the doctor and blood clinic - elevated blood pressure, fatty liver, high cholesterol and, found out today.....Type 2 diabetes....all pointing to an increased risk of heart attack. At 43. More blood tests are scheduled for tomorrow and a visit to the diabetes nurse at the doctor's surgery is scheduled for next week. Apparently the diabetes is "early onset" and is manageable through diet and exercise. He doesn't have to needle himself. He's not at all perturbed or bothered by the diagnosis. Now I just need to convince him to either come swimming with me or get back on the bike.

Goodbye wagyu, hello fish and chicken. A change in diet will be good for all of us and we will put more effort into meal planning instead of grabbing a bag of beef out of the freezer and thinking "now what will I do with this?".

It rained AGAIN this afternoon; Drew got totally drenched as he ran around covering pigeons and chickens. The gardens, both house and vege, are loving the regular rainfall and the fertilizer spread a few weeks ago has really done it's job - you can see the difference so clearly.

Well, according to Matthew...
that's what happens when you live on that Wagyu beef!
Looks like I'll have to send some good lean Brahman your way.
While Matthew continues to fight any attempts to live a healthier lifestyle, I always joke that he'll change his tune after his first health-scare! Maybe I shouldn't joke!
