I woke up at 3.48am and figured (and hoped) that Drew should be on the train from Ottawa to Toronto. His facebook page confirmed it. He skyped us around 8am and still had about an hour to go; he was calling off his iPod and kept dropping in and out but he got to say hello to most of us and he met the two newest girl babies in the family; young Harry was still asleep. He looked really tired. Sandra and Margie went to the train station to say goodbye which was really nice of them; Sandra had tears. He was being met in Toronto by a rep from SOI.
I'm fully operational on my new Mac; Meg set it up last night. Office is loaded and email is working, complete with new email address. Now begins the laborious task of changing my email address all over the place. I should set myself a time limit so that I can then cancel the rather expensive plan we're on for the desktop. The wifi continues to work brilliantly, touch wood.
The family has really expanded since they've all been coming here for Boxing Day and Beyond. There's been 9 babies in 4 years so the activities have changed. There's nowhere near as much sport and there's no more Survivor or Idol competitions. There's now baby toys and toddler bikes and wading pools and play dough. We don't have a bathtub so the really little people are bathing in big plastic tubs outside under the trees. Everyone loves to come to Gibbie's Place.
K and D left today; they're heading off on a cruise to New Zealand tomorrow. I went to work to process the fortnightly payroll. Meg baked some amazing little cakes that I'll share photos of tomorrow. I made spaghetti bolognaise for tea; Desley did the spaghetti and Lillie made an apple and sour cream slice.
My 365 book is really bulging now; it totally deserves a post of it's own when it's time is done - in four days!
The cat has been totally freaked out by the extra visitors and dogs. She is hiding under Meg's bed and won't come out. We managed to coax her out for a quick feed (in the bedroom) but she only stayed out for a minute and gulped down some biscuits then fled under the bed again. She has such a fearful, hunted, haunted look on her face.
