Budgie Smugglers and Bikinis

Well we've packed our budgie smugglers and bikini (yes I know, the strong visual is disturbing isn't it?) and escaped for a few days of R&R at our annual week at Nobbys with three other families. Already we're over half way through; it's gone so quickly. We follow a regular daily pattern; breakfast is whenever you like, either eaten in your unit or at one of the communal tables followed by a swim at the beach. Lunch is your own choice. Afternoons are made up of shopping/swimming/walking/tennis/poker/playing games/sleeping. At dinner we all come together and eat around the tables; kids at one, adults at the other. Our first night here we had a selection of curries; Monday night Gibbo and I went to Jupiters and ate at one of the eateries there using vouchers given to us by the work staff; Tuesday night was wagyu night; last night we all went to the nearby surf club; tonight is salmon and salad and tomorrow night is a big seafood bash. The three other families leave on Saturday; Gib and I stay until Monday so we will probably go back to the Casino and use the rest of the vouchers - although I do hope to fit in a feed of Beef Penang from the local Thai Restaurant. Including a local family who join us each evening and another from home (who left Tuesday) we've had 29 people to feed (14 adults, 15 children) although my contribution has actually been NIL - I just emerge from my unit when someone yells DINNER'S READY!!

Meg and Drew aren't with us this year and they've been missed. Everyone has commented on their absence. The little people have especially missed Meg and try as she might, Kat couldn't convince her to change her plan of going to Emerald this weekend to come here instead. The teenagers have missed Drew's exuberance. I have missed them both, just because; I don't need a reason!

I haven't taken a photo since I got here. I've been reading and sleeping and doing an appalling job at Christmas shopping.

There are some posts to catch up on from last weekend at home. They follow.
