And So It Begins

The marathon effort to catch up on what Meg and Drew have been up to over the last four weeks begins now. What with the bike ride, the trip to Melbourne and crazy busy late days at work implementing a new system, preparing monthly reports, completing payroll, having visitors (business) as well as the usual day to day work hasn't left a lot of time to keep up with their doings. Meg has posted hundreds of photos on facebook, been sending through lots of emails, got washed out at Oktoberfest and has travelled all over the UK. After much research, deliberation and discussion she bought herself a new camera, duty free in Ireland. It's the Canon EOS 600D, the little sister to my new camera. She's thrilled with it and already has taken lots of photos. She also bought a 50mm lens for portrait shots. Later on today she flies to New York! How exciting!

Drew has been busy organising his paperwork and seeking sponsorship for the Students on Ice Antarctica trip. He has sent out around 70 emails to mostly Tasmanian based businesses that are part of the Tasmanian Polar Network Group. A local business has sponsored him with a very generous amount; a female metalsmith in Tasmania offered a piece of jewellery to raffle and we accepted, selling $250 worth of tickets so far and family and friends have made donations. He's been camping with his host parents and grandparents in Algonquin Park and saw four moose and heard wolves howling at night. He's tried injuring himself whilst skateboarding, has been shopping for a Halloween costume, took part in the Ottawa 5km Run for a Cure run (and dedicated it to our friend June) and has been continuing to enjoy his Canadian life.

I'm sure to label some of Meg's pics in the wrong location but I want to get them into sliprail so that when I print the 'blog2print' books there's a record of her travels to keep forever. So here I go.

This first batch are the last of the Europe photos in no particular order.

And that pretty well finishes Europe - except for Oktoberfest!
