It Was A Big Day

Sunday we were up early to get the culls into the yards, ready for the truck to take them to the abattoir this afternoon - an angus, a few old (and dry) wagyu and a young and silly charolais. G brought some of the other girls up in the group.

Here's the little F1 charolais/wagyu cross; a little bull calf.

The culls.

We recaptured the two escapee weaners and will return them to the pack in a couple of weeks. We also have two of our neighbour's wanderers to return. There's another old girl in this group; she is a bit poor and has a bad foot; she's due to calve soon so we'll keep her close and keep an eye on her.

The sheep are still happy....and noisily demanding when they see you coming.

Then while I planted two roses into hanging pots, Gibbo started cutting up and taking yesterday's tree away. It took about six loads then it took us nearly an hour to pick up all the branches, twigs, bark and leaves. Peter came back to help us lift the clothesline back in.
