Filling the Hampers

Meg came home on Friday afternoon and sat drinking wine and eating cheese, crackers, sd toms and olives on her own until someone came home to join her! G rolled in about 7.30pm from Surat and I got in later than that after staying at work trying to finish everything off because WE'RE ON HOLIDAYS FOR TWO WEEKS!!! Hahaha, holidays! Two Weeks! Let's see how that pans out.

Over the course of the weekend we achieved a huge amount. We made cordial, biscuits, washing liquid and rocky road; we potted the plants and assembled the hampers; there was a lot of stamping, string and ribbon involved, all time consuming but certainly worth it in the end. We set up the festive tree. We talked and laughed and enjoyed all the home making. G dug more holes for more trees.

Washing liquid.

Meg's Baking Box.

Shortbread.

Lots of gingerbread men.

Lemon cordial. I wasn't very happy with the finished product; it's nowhere near as nice as the bottle I bought a few weeks ago at the markets. I'll need to work on the next batch.

I've never made rocky road before. It was quick and easy and a great addition to the hampers.

These are the little bulbous plants that I picked from G years ago now. They multiply quickly and are a pretty little plant.

Gibbo got up early on Sunday and went to pick Drew up from Brisbane. He worked his last shift at the restaurant on Sat night and will now be home until New Year's Eve when he flies away. They called in on the way home and bought another norfolk island pine and 2 more Spartans. We planted them Sunday afternoon along with two more bottle trees.

Eight Spartans all in a row.

Meg had to head back to Tba to deliver two hampers, go out for dinner and work two days. She'll be home again Tuesday. The 3 of us went to a friend's place for dinner; we've known them a long, long time and it was great to catch up.
