Bobcat in the Garden

Last weekend (1st and 2nd) we hired a man and his bobcat to come and do some garden work. We've had jobs planned for a while but just haven't found time to get them done. There's a lot of photos in this post. Before and after shots.

This is the tank area; when we first bought the farm there were 3 palm trees, a couple of straggly wilgas, a leaning tipuana and an enormous gum tree (a widow maker) all in this small area.

BEFORE:

We've slowly taken everything away but left the two big yuccas. However, they frosted quite badly this last winter and can't really be resurrected; so they went. We'd never have done it by hand; they were stuck fast and are very spiky.

Then the bobcat man used dirt from the dam clean out to build up the uneven patch between the tanks and the conifers.

AFTER:

We have 8 murrayas to offset plant beside the conifers. Not sure yet what we'll do with this new raised bed.
