The Other Local Show

I took a few quick pics at the show yesterday when I went to pick up the chooks that were on display. They didn't have a competition; they just wanted to showcase a few different breeds; there is talk of building a small poultry pavilion so we took along some of ours to show our support. It was a tiny show with a well known, huge wood chopping competition.

Sideshow Alley was short. This looked like fun.

The stall prizes all hung upside down; it was bizarre (and kind of evil, especially the gingerbread man).

The Jam Drop competition is fiercely fought; Ian McNamara once came and judged the competition with Marie (our wedding caterer). This is the show that Meg was going to enter jam drops in last year; it can't be that hard can it?

The next two pics are for Fiona. These kids look like they just want to go home.

And here are the girls on display. The silkies were very popular - especially the mother hen and six chicks that I sent.

Thanks for the photos Mare! I recognise that brand actually and know the people it belongs to. We're gearing up for our local show in April, a Brahman Feature show this year, and only two weeks before Beef Week should mean huge nominations for us. Should be great.
