We caught the Tommy's Tours shuttle bus to Hanauma Bay and then caught the taxi down to the entrance to the park. You have to watch a compulsory 8 minute video on reef conservation before being allowed to continue further down to the bay itself. Here's a series of pics from the day. It was beautiful and hot and sunny and the water was crystal clear. We saw lots of pretty fish, some quite large and we watched a green sea turtle eating plants off the coral. The walk back up to the taxi spot was quite steep; Gibbo wanted to get the trolley bus up but I made him walk.
At the top car park we looked across and saw this mountain. It's called Koko Crater; there's an old railway line that runs straight up the side and people hike up for the view and run up for the exercise. It's 1km long, rises 1200ft and has 1048 steps.
Yes,there are chooks in Hawaii; they too have feathers and two legs. I took quite a few photos of them.
The tour company brought us back to the hotel via the front gate of the house of "Dog the Bounty Hunter".
We had a quick lunch across the road from the hotel then Gibbo went with some of the others to a shooting gallery. I went to the gym for another hour of cycling and reading.
Dinner was at Roy's; beautiful tastes and flavours, right up there in my top 5 meals list. It was a fun and funny night but I'll leave the evidence until the next post. Gibbo has gone to take a board out into the ocean; I'm heading to the gym.
