Like most mothers around the country, I've had a busy week. I've worked, trying to keep track of more and more wagyu as they make their way into feedlots across eastern Australia. With S taking on the cattle arrivals side of my job I can pay much better attention to our "outside" cattle as well as the supply schedule (which makes some amongst us a little nervous).
I've shopped for food and presents; I've cleaned and tidied; I've made lists; I've been out for tea and I've just sat and stared into space, wondering how to fit everything in. Of course, everything always gets done. Today I scored and cooked the pork, boiled the 20 eggs for Ma-Ma's special recipe, went to work, went to town, cooked the quiche, cooked the sticky date pudding, marinated the chicken wings, prepared the mix for the thai chicken mince balls and Drew and I cooked spicy pork wontons. And I've blogged - a satisfying end to a busy day. I feel good when my blog world is up to date.
This Christmas is a very special one as Drew won't be sharing it with us next year - he'll be having a white Christmas, somewhere in Canada.
So to anyone out there who reads this - I hope your Christmas is exactly what you want it to be, whether you're with lots of family or just a few. You can make it special. Merry Christmas.
