On Show at Maleny

We got up at 4-30, loaded the birds and left at 5; arrived at Maleny at 7-30am. It took about half an hour to pen the birds - then the wait began. Judging started at 9 so we had a cooked breakfast at the canteen then reclined in the car, reading. Periodically we went and checked on the judging progress (and results). The silkies were finished first and I got 2 firsts (the white pullets) and 2 seconds (black cockerel and black pullet).

About 11 we went for a look around the main street area and just wandered. I found a lovely antique shop where I spent a quiet and pleasant half hour.

Storm clouds loomed and the air grew hot and heavy.
We wandered back to the showgrounds and still the wyandottes were waiting. I had another cup of tea. Finally the judging was over. Gibbo got 2 champions, 4 firsts, 3 seconds and a third.

This is a frizzle.
This guy wanted to go home too.
And these were the four champions from the day.........
Oh........and this little guy..........

I just love chooks!
Didn't realise you were a chook-exhibitor!
Our show is this weekend, and for the first time in many years there will no poultry section - lack of interest - unfortunately.
Maleny - I love the place.
