Show Day

We were up early Friday 14th to box up the last of the chooks and pack the fresh food for the canteen.

Upon arrival we penned up the last of the birds then while G went off to do club duties, the two Pams and I set up the canteen. Pam 1 (on the right) is Gibbo's mum and Pam 2 is a life long family friend. They were fantastic and I couldn't have done the whole canteen thing without them.

Ribbons on display.

Silver laced hen won Champion Laced BOS.

The Champions (top left is ours).

The silver laced birds' ribbons and trophy (with Coco trying to get in on a bit of the action).

The day was a success in a lot of ways. Our birds did well. Everyone got fed and enjoyed the wagyu steak burgers and the cakes/slices. This was the inaugural stand alone Qld show so there was a lot riding on it; at the AGM there was a unanimous vote to continue the stand alone instead of reverting to the previous format where the state show was conducted within a larger poultry breeds show.

It showered rain most of the day. By the time 4pm came we were packed up and headed home where we unpacked, washed up and fell into bed.
