Around Home

On Friday night, Gibbo and Meg went to a Casino Night at the QCC. Chris drove them over and very kindly went back and picked them up. Dave and Rocky went as well. I couldn't think of a worse way to spend a night!!!! Thank goodness Meg's back!

Mum, Meg and I went to Twba on Saturday morning to do a bit of shopping. At the second hand shop, Meg found these!! How weird is that!! I've just bought the red and white Christmas moose plate (and we went back and bought the other red one that has a big snowflake in the middle and little moose around the edge) and now Meg finds these two! She and I are going to have them as our regular meal plates so that we use them every day.
Meg and I were too vain to model them this morning after just getting out of bed. Gibbo has no such qualms!
At the second hand shop I bought 6 old National Geographics, dated over the last 12 years. I chose ones that were relevant to us - stories on Route 66, Antarctica, Mark Twain and cycling across Australia and for my Dad I chose stories on The Dog Fence and Ultralight planes. I bought Money magazine for Meg to start reading as, once she catches up on a few payments, she's going to start investing the money she saves from her fortnightly pay. I bought Time because the cover story caught my eye - 'Why Mom Liked You Best', the Science of Favouritism.
This is the shirt that Drew got when he did the Breast Cancer Run in Ottowa in October. He sent it home along with  tribute card and badge that he wore. Meg and I took all three down to June today; she was very touched. Her second treatment is tomorrow.
