How Was My Week? Pretty Good Thanks.

On Monday I..........worked at my job - it's the one I have a love/hate relationship with. At 8am I found out we were expecting visitors at 10am. Enough said. We went to the doctor for G's 3 monthly check up; vital signs all there and readings are great, lower again. Lost another cm of his waist and is nearly under the magical 90kgs. Target is 85. We celebrated with a coffee.

On Tuesday I.........went to Brisbane with Gibbo. We stopped in Toowoomba to have a look at a very big roller then had coffee with Mr. PD at Angelo's on Herries Street. What a great little find, all by accident. We'll be going back. Mr. PD bought a coffee machine for the work office. We continued on to Brisbane and booked in at Urban, located on Wickham Terrace. It's a very nice boutique hotel. We were in town for two meetings - the AWA Council meeting and the Company AGM. We spent the afternoon at head office; I worked on kill data while Gibbo met with his boss and went through the presentation for Wednesday's meeting. We had dinner with the rest of the AWA Board back at Urban. G couldn't sleep so he got up at 2.30am to make notes in Gibbospeak for his section of the presentation.

On Wednesday I.......walked from Spring Hill to Southbank for the AGM. G had to meet the others at 7-30 for another run through. Mostly happy shareholders. Mini wagyu burgers afterwards. G's speech went well, as it usually does. He got a laugh. When it was over he went back to the AWA meeting and I walked back to the city via Southbank. I visited The Tony Gould Gallery at Qpac and had a look at the "A View from the Sixth Row" exhibition. It was a collection of photos taken, as the name suggests, from the sixth row of the audience during each final dress rehearsal. There were some great shots of some famous faces. From there I walk back across the bridge to the sort of Farmers Markets outside the Casino. It was cool and very windy and very crowded. Could I ever live the city lifestyle again? I don't think so. I bought some chocolate fudge and proceeded to eat the whole packet and picked up a Butter Chicken Spice Mix; smells wonderful every time I walk into the pantry. From there I wandered into the Myer Centre and rang Meg. On her suggestion I found the Nespresso Boutique and bought some coffee pods. I went to Borders and browsed for a while; it was all a bit sad really, with lots of empty shelves and half priced books. Liquidation. Then I went over to Dymocks and then Kathmandu and fondled the hiking clothing. I made my way back to Urban and waited for G to finish his meeting. We (and a client) left Brisbane at 5, made it back to Mary's in time for dinner, then home.

On Thursday I........got to work and found my Mothers Day Card from Drew, with a white plaited bracelet inside. It made me cry. Gibbo went to Surat for the day and night. Meg took Chloe to the vet to be spayed. Coco is glad to have all the attention.

On Friday I..........got to work and in the mail was another letter from Drew, this time with a sheet of Canadian stickers for my 365. Meg and Chris picked Chloe up then headed to Brisbane to catch a flight to Townsville for his sister's wedding. Gibbo got back after lunch and we went straight into eom reports. Got them away in record time, rushed as usual. One day we'll send a set in that will be well considered and thought through. We went to town for a lazy takeaway dinner. Feeling cold and tired and with the footy on tv, I crawled into bed at a very early 7.30pm. With the latest cycling magazine and my ipad, what more does a girl need?

On Saturday I.......spent several hours raking sticks and feathers, scrubbing water dishes, cleaning pens, raking goat droppings and rearranging chooks....a very pleasant way to start the weekend. We're supposed to go out tonight but have opted for a quiet night at home together.

On Sunday I.........am supposed to go to Kingaroy with Gibbo to a chook show and auction. Will she or won't she? Stay tuned to find out.

You don't sit still long Mare. Gibbo's to be congratulated on his health improvement/weight loss. Men amaze me with their matter of fact Nike approach to losing weight ... just do it. I'm envious of your frequent trips to Brisbane. I love the place, particularly the city. I never visit without a half day spent wandering the mall and Myer Centre. Matthew's thrilled to have been asked to do some judging at the Ekka this year so we're making a holiday of it, taking the kids down for a few days, I just can't wait. We're staying at some apartments in Turbot St and I hope to take the kids to the museum, science centre, southbank etc etc. Really looking forward to it.
Look forward to hearing whether you did or didn't head to Kingaroy. Very blustery cold breeze here today and we're making hay! Joy.
