Sometimes

Sometimes boys need care packages. An SOS was sent on Tuesday afternoon so I shopped and posted.

There were a few medicinal items in the box - the rest was rubbish - chips, honeycomb, snickers, musk sticks, jelly beans (from the chemist, the best kind) and mushroom jellies! Just what a boy needs to help him study!

His hair is growing back. S-l-o-w-l-y.

234kgs Later

and I'm over it. At least the freezers are full again and the dogs and cat are fat and happy tonight. F1 eu wag - but not the one I hit a few weeks ago! Speaking of which - $2100 and she'll all be fixed! Booked in next week.

My offsider left half way through for a phone hookup at the office. In his absence I lolled indolently on the couch for a while, talking to the kids - then thought I'd better get up and do something before he came home in case he accused me of shirking my share of the task. We managed to get it all done; bit like eating an elephant really, one bite at a time.

Raising Money

It was Leona's idea that we raise money for a charity whilst riding 540km in CQ this year. We chose beyond blue. We'll be sending the link throughout The Company for individuals and social clubs to donate. Our goal is $1,000 - and we've got $100 already!!

Here we are at women's conference two years ago - a much less eventful forum than the 2012 one! I keep wanting to move that piece of hair out of the middle of my forehead.

Meg is Back -

from Melbourne with a few extra kilos - of luggage!! She flew back yesterday via a night in Newcastle with her friend. She loved Melbourne, had a great time, spent all her mojo money and enjoyed catching up with Steph. Her luggage is on the left.

This is her next goal in the macaron department. She's making some for an RSPCA fundraiser next week and is going to have a go at one of these - it's a Snickers flavoured macaron! It looks delicious doesn't it - and it matches her fingernails!!

!!!!!!!!!!! I laughed out loud when I saw this photo!

Disaster McMaster!!

It's ages since I've done anything in the garden but this morning I took a little time and slowed down.

This is one of the lettuce trees - I let them go to seed and then pluck a few leaves each day for the silkies and barnies.

The secondary broccoli heads are still providing a meal.

Here's my friend, the one that follows me around each morning. He's having his say.

I've really neglected the tomatoes; I've been burying them in the straw bale compost pit - the worms are loving it. This morning I thought I should really get in and clean them up.

I decided to make Summer Sauce and picked some capsicum, broccoli, rosemary, basil, oregano and thyme as well.

I chopped and diced and sliced and put everything in the slow cooker so I could go for a ride without worrying about it being on the stove. It smelt fantastic.

Added onion and garlic - the only non home grown ingredients in the sauce (apart from salt, pepper and sugar).

Then I went to blend it - and had an absolute shocker!! The bottom fell out of the blender jug when I lifted it off the base - AND HOT TOMATO SAUCE WENT EVERYWHERE!!!!! The seal has come away from the bottom of the jug!

I did manage to salvage some of it by scraping it off the bench into another jug to cool then into containers to freeze.

I actually think it's a plot devised by Meg - she's constantly harping at encouraging me to buy a Thermomix!

Getting There

Training (?) is going well. Actually, I'm not sure I can call it training! I just go out riding for a while and then I come home! Last weekend I rode 71km then did a couple of session during the week on the exercise bike (before and after women's forum). Yesterday I rode 60km and today, 37km. This week I'll do an exercise bike session every day just to get some miles in my legs. I think I'm gonna make it! This time in a month I'll know whether it was a good idea to book in again. At least I'll have an already erected tent to fall into each night.

It's a long straight road.........

Melbourne Meg

Meg is in Melbourne, shopping up a STORM!!!! The photos I've seen and the messages she's sent - priceless!! I have to load the pics from phone to Facebook then back to computer - but we're heading out for dinner so I'll have to do it later.

Pics loaded. Meg is having a wonderful time and is right on budget! She has saved for quite a while for this trip so there is no guilt in her spending because she has the money in the bag! Six pairs of shoes so far, jewellery, make-up, nails, clothes, food....the list is endless. She's having an absolutely wonderful time..it's just what she needed.

Not all hers - but half of them are!

The black one is new - we both wear the little heart ring for each other.

THEY SHOPPED 'TIL THEY DROPPED!!!!!!!
