Garlic and Mushrooms

usually go well together but not in this case. A month ago Meg laughed at me when I grabbed the leftover garlic from the pantry and planted it in the "root crop" phase of the lunar planting calendar. Nothing happened for ages and I thought it had died off underground - but look at it now.
These mushrooms aren't for eating but I love the way they cluster together, looking like smurf houses. I took these photos without the extension tube and they now show greater depth of field and a whole different feel to the close up pics.

In other news - Gibbo is on his way home after two days of meetings in Brisbane and Meg is on the way home from her trip to Townsville (overnight in Emerald). They will nearly arrive home at the same time. Somehow, Meg and Chris have managed to avoid all the water and rain that has fallen across the state as they've travelled in the last week; in fact, they've hardly driven through a puddle. They went snorkelling at Magnetic Island, where it was 65 degrees (or so Megan exaggeratedly complained; she gets her exaggeration gene from her father).

Drewy is in Week 7 of school, in the thick of assignment drafts, final copies and script lines. He did an RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) course last Sunday. We'll all be together again tonight :) (just before Drew and I head to Toowoomba for his Drama Workshops at the Empire Theatre).
