Old Friends

Last weekend also gifted me a long overdue catchup with a very dear friend; we've known each other for nearly 50 years! 50 YEARS!! She lives in Canada now and we haven't seen each other for six and a half years! When I walked into the cafe to meet her for breakfast she was standing in the doorway, waiting to greet me. I just melted and burst into tears and we hugged and hugged. Over the next several hours we talked and laughed and talked and cried and talked and reminisced and caught up on each other's pre and post marriage/children family news. Different things each of us said could have been the other one talking (if that makes sense). It was wonderful and saying goodbye was bittersweet. Who knows how long it will be before we see each other again?
