Mare

Today was spent at the island of Mare. We had to catch a tender from ship to shore.

79 years old and only been out of Queensland once! She's done so well!

I love snorkelling; putting on my flippers!

Fish and Chips and Chicken Kebabs on the beach for lunch.

Catching the tender back to the ship.

Noumea

First port of call - Noumea! We took a bus tour of the city highlights and wandered through the markets.

Three Days Already!

How quickly the days pass, even when you're doing 'nothing'! Day 4 already; today was the first day I've really felt like I might be on a holiday. Three days left!

We spent Sunday afternoon exploring the ship and signed up for the thermal suite - unlimited use of the steam room, jacuzzi and heated mosaic beds; they are my favourite!

More pics around the ship. Here's Drew and Granny sampling the complimentary champagne! The weather has been lovely (while folks at home are dealing with -2 temps) and Mum is really enjoying herself.

And We're Off

It's been a maniacal time trying to get away - but we made it. A week of sailing, eating, drinking, reading and sleeping. Here we are.

Mum and the kids are in a mini-suite. Very tough life they've got for the next week….

Their balcony!

We got priority boarding because Granny is old. She thinks we should take her away more often!

Safety drill.

My menu for the next week….

That's my arm hanging out over the edge.

See you on the flip side!
